It is with great sadness that we are announcing that we won’t be opening on Saturday 4th of July. Having had a licensing meeting and going through the regulations we have found it isn’t viable to open. We wanted to open in a way were as customers you could have some sort of normality in our premises and we sadly can not offer that. Tables are limited to a maximum of six and of said 6 from no more than 2 households. We understand people will be disappointed with our decision but we need to do this..... we will keep you all informed of what is happening as and when we know more or regulations change. We hope you all stay safe and look forward to seeing you all again when this s**t storm is over... all the best Nic, Val & staff.

This extensively modernised old Georgian house has a nautical theme, with the flooring a special feature. It shows the bay around Ilfracombe in pictorial form, with local landmarks and shipwrecks plotted, together with an impressive pub logo shown in an image of a compass. Outside there is a pleasant beer garden in front of the pub. There is always a very good selection of real ales, ciders and food offerings available.
