How does a pub get into the Good Beer Guide (GBG)?

The short answer is - the branch puts the pub forward as part of its allocation (the number of pubs we are allowed to enter in the GBG is decided by CAMRA HQ). BUT, of course, it's not as simple as that. Pubs are surveyed and decisions made on the basis of defined criteria.
