Devil's Stone InnShebbear
Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic this pub is currently offering additional services:
Following the latest Government announcement, unfortunately we will remain closed until we are moved into Tier 1. We are predominently a wet sales pub rather than a restaurant that allows customers to have alcohol with a substantial meal. We look forward to opening once again just as soon as we are in Tier 1 and thank all of our valued cusomers for your continued support. Steve, Chris & Murphy

This 17th century former coaching inn at the heart of the village is a warm, cosy venue with wood beams, flagstone floors and several open fireplaces. The single bar has four handpumps serving one regular ale and two guests, one erring on the strong side, plus Sam's cider from Winkleigh in summer. There is a discount food menu on Mondays, themed food nights and a popular Sunday roast. Apparently haunted, there is also a large garden, games room and separate dining room. in the church opposite you will find the Devil's Stone that is turned every year on 5th November to ward off evil spirits.
