The Bull and Dragon has been a thatched country pub and coaching inn since about 1490. It sits next to the A386, between Hatherleigh and Torrington and is also at the end of the popular Tarka Trail cycle route. The bar is positioned centrally, with a games room to the left and restaurant to the right. Cosy low beams and inglenooks feature throughout with a log burner at the restaurant end. The friendly publicans, who acquired the pub from Punch Taverns in July 2014, tend to keep rotating beers from Exmoor and Otter. Bottled ales are also available. All food is home-cooked, with pies and stews their popular specialities. A recent feature is an attractive "Afternoon Tea for Two with Prosecco" deal in the afternoons of the last Saturday of each month (please book).
