See more about this pub on WhatPub, CAMRA's national pub guide.
On the main road through the quiet village of Swimbridge, the pub is famous for its connection with the Reverend John Russell, who was the first breeder of the Jack Russell Terrier and is buried in the churchyard opposite. An integral part of the local community, a number of teams are supported and other events, such as quiz nights, are held on a regular basis. An annual cider festival takes place at Halloween.
