See more about this pub on WhatPub, CAMRA's national pub guide.
Dog friendly and ever popular with walkers and hikers, this privately owned and run 13th-century inn lies on the old coaching route from Porlock to Lynmouth. The unspoilt interior has low ceilings, blackened beams and stone fireplaces. Four real ales are usually available, including a very good house beer and at least one guest. Good food from an extensive menu is served all day, except between three and six during the winter months.
